​Hank Cauley leads Conservation International’s Center for Environmental Leadership in Business, which works across a range of industries to create and implement sustainable business practices that deliver benefits for local people, for the environment and for the bottom line.

​​​​​Hank brings to this mission more than 25 years of creating and delivering value to stakeholders in the nonprofit and business sectors. With a background in chemical engineering and business, he applies innovative thinking to improve business practices and the lives of people around the world. Past projects include starting an energy-saving program in Somalia, launching a sustainable timber business in Papua New Guinea, and protecting large sections of Australia’s outback.

Prior to joining Conservation International, Hank was a Senior Officer at the Pew Charitable Trusts in the planning and evaluation group and a lecturer at Yale University. He has a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering ​and an MBA from Harvard Business School.​
