Vice President, European Private Partnerships
David Emmett is a Vice President for Conservation International, responsible for developing and managing European private partnerships.
David oversees Conservation International’s engagements with foundations and individuals across Europe. He develops new relationships with European partners including  academia, think tanks and other NGOs, and helps to establish corporate philanthropic partnerships.
 
David was previously based in Singapore, where he led Conservation International’s Asia-Pacific Field Division and was responsible for the organization’s engagements in twelve countries. During this time, he mentored national teams to deliver lasting conservation results.
 
David is experienced in managing tropical conservation programs, working with governments and other partners, and developing strategies and conservation targets. Prior to managing Conservation International’s Asia-Pacific division, David led the organization’s Greater Mekong program. 
 
A field conservationist, scientist, explorer and environmental leader with more than two decades of in-country tropical conservation experience, David has dedicated his career to protecting some of the most threatened and ecologically rich places in Asia-Pacific and Africa.  David has been involved in the creation of more than 20 terrestrial and marine protected areas and has discovered numerous new species to science.
