“Women Leading Amazonia Conservation” highlights the crucial role of Indigenous women as key allies and leaders in conserving Amazonia and fighting climate change. Through four inspiring stories, the video shows how these women exert agency over their territories and transform their communities using their ancestral knowledge. It features Yadira Ocoguaje (Ecuador), Lilia Isolina Java (Colombia), Fulvia Medina (Bolivia) and Dadá Baniwa (Brazil), fellows of Conservation International's Amazonia Indigenous Women's Fellowship Program. This program, launched in 2021, seeks to strengthen the effective participation of Indigenous women in the protection of their territories, addressing their emerging needs, strengthening their organizations and promoting their leadership in the conservation of Amazonia.
