Help #saveouroceans

One TikTok video at a time

Did you know that by 2050, there will be more plastic than fish in the world’s oceans? That’s right: Oceans and marine life are in more trouble than ever before. But you can help protect them.

TikTok is partnering with Conservation International to address marine plastic pollution and to protect our oceans for a better future. Together, we are hosting the “Save Our Oceans” challenge. For every video you upload with the hashtag #SaveOurOceans to TikTok through September 9, TikTok is donating $2 to Conservation International to help save 3,000 sq. km of ocean (up to $100,000).

Why do we need healthy oceans?

3 billion
people
Three out of every seven people in the world depend on seafood as their main source of protein.
US$ 2.5
trillion
Some US$ 2.5 trillion per year of economic value is produced by the ocean.
44%
of world's population
About 44 percent of the world's population lives within 150 kilometers (93 miles) of the ocean.

Here's how you can participate

You can help protect 3,000 square kilometers of ocean. TikTok will donate $2 for every uploaded video.

Step 1: Join the challenge

Download or open the TikTok app and show us how you will reduce plastic and help #SaveOurOceans. You can use a cool ocean effect that allows you to virtually "clean plastic" out of the ocean with the swipe of a hand.

Step 2: Post it with #SaveOurOceans

Every time you share using the hashtag #SaveOurOceans, you will help Conservation International raise enough funds to protect 3,000 sq. km of ocean.
