In New Guinea, the dawn chorus includes the yellow-billed kingfisher, curl-crested manucode, and Goldie’s bird-of-paradise. The bird-of-paradise family – which includes the manucode – is only found on New Guinea and a few nearby areas. Its more than three-dozen species have dazzling plumages and breeding displays.
