Senior Scientist, Climate Change Biology, Moore Center for Science

Dr. Lee Hannah heads Conservation International’s efforts to develop conservation responses to climate change. Lee works collaboratively with the Bren School at UC Santa Barbara to model climate impacts on marine megafauna, endemic plant species and crops with conservation impacts, such as wine.

Lee Hannah is Senior Fellow in Climate Change Biology at Conservation International’s Betty and Gordon Moore Center for Science and Solutions. Tracking with his interest in the role of climate change in conservation planning and methods of corridor design, he heads Conservation International’s efforts to develop conservation responses to climate change. He works collaboratively with the Bren School at UC Santa Barbara and universities in Southern Africa, Central America and Brazil to model climate impacts on species and ecosystems. He is a regular participant in the Species on the Move global conferences, author of over 70 research papers on climate change and nature, and authored the first undergraduate textbook on climate change biology. He has assessed climate change impacts on conservation in Brazil, Madagascar, Cambodia, Costa Rica, South Africa, Mozambique and Fiji.
