Laure Katz, MS, MBA
Laure Katz is a marine ecologist and ocean conservation practitioner with over 20 years of global experience spanning all five ocean basins.
Laure serves as the Executive Director of the Blue Nature Alliance, an ambitious global initiative founded by Conservation International, The Pew Charitable Trusts, the Global Environment Facility, the Minderoo Foundation, and the Rob Walton Foundation to accelerate the pace, scale and effectiveness of ocean conservation globally through partnership. Laure leads a team of technical experts and a network of over 160 partners worldwide actively working to protect ocean areas covering 8% of the global ocean.
She brings to the Blue Nature Alliance practical Marine Protected Area management experience, scientific and conservation finance expertise, a passion for swimming with sharks, and a continual curiosity to learn from new places and people. Laure earned an interdisciplinary B.S. and M.S. in ocean science and resource management from Stanford University and a global MBA from University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.
