Jackson Frechette, Ph.D.
Jackson Frechette is senior vice president and chief field officer for Asia and head of the Singapore office at Conservation International.
With more than 20 years of global conservation experience, Jackson specializes in landscape-scale conservation, nature-based finance and community-centered conservation across Asia.
Jackson holds a Ph.D. in interdisciplinary ecology from the University of Florida and has spent much of the past decade working across Southeast Asia, particularly in Cambodia. There, he worked closely with governments, Indigenous peoples, local communities, donors and private-sector partners to advance practical, durable conservation solutions. His work focuses on integrating biodiversity protection, climate resilience and human well-being to create long-term benefits for both nature and people.
Driven by a deep passion for conservation, Jackson believes the most lasting environmental outcomes are achieved through strong local partnerships, trust and science-based approaches. A defining example is his work supporting REDD+ and carbon finance initiatives in Cambodia, where conservation efforts have helped strengthen community livelihoods, improve food security and protect forests.
