A little more than 10 years ago, CI embarked on an ambitious journey, becoming an Agency of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) to drive transformative conservation efforts worldwide. What started as a small team of three has grown into a powerhouse of 21 specialists, dedicated to designing and implementing high-impact projects that tackle biodiversity loss, land degradation, climate change, and more.
Since 2013, CI-GEF has developed over 72 projects, invested $357 million, and reached more than 6 million people in over 100 countries. This decade of impact has strengthened ecosystems and communities alike, proving that strategic partnerships and innovative solutions can drive meaningful environmental change.
