Alternative Response Options for Mitigation & Adaptation of Coffee Farms (AROMA)

Objectives:  Increase the climate resilience of smallholder coffee farmers and reduce GHG emissions across four important coffee producing countries, providing an effective model for the global coffee supply chain. The Program will improve coffee production through on-farm interventions to increase climate resilience and reduce the need for deforestation activities to maintain yields. Landscape-level planning and governance interventions will be undertaken along with deployment of a Nature Positive Facility to increase the local access to grants and concessional finance to support climate resilient coffee enterprises and link them to larger sources of private sector funding.
