CI-GCF Agency Grievance Mechanisms
The CI-GCF Agency Grievance Mechanisms can be accessed when necessary to manage project-related grievances that cannot be resolved by a project’s Executing Entity. If you or your organization should need to file a grievance, contact the Executing Entity managing the project on the ground or use one of the Redress Mechanisms listed below.
Mechanism for Integrity-Related Grievances
As an Accredited Entity of the GCF, CI strives to implement projects with the utmost level of integrity and professionalism and has a robust set of integrity-related policies that apply to all GCF-funded activities. Throughout the life of a project, recipients of GCF funds are required to abide by the following:
- CI’s Code of Ethics
- CI’s Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy
- CI’s Anti-Fraud Policy & Guidelines for Investigations
- CI’s Conflict of Interest Policy
- GCF Policy on Prohibited Practices
- Reporting Illegal or Unethical Conduct
Any CI employee or any employee of an executing entity, grantee, partner, or vendor working on a GCF-funded project may report a grievance or violation of these policies anonymously through CI’s Ethics Hotline. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by logging on to www.ci.ethicspoint.com or by dialing a toll-free number from anywhere in the world where CI works, which can be found on the website. All reported integrity-related grievances will be investigated and addressed per CI’s Anti-Fraud Policy & Guidelines for Investigations.
Environmental and Social Management Framework Accountability and Grievance Mechanism
All GCF fund-related activities must abide by CI’s Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) which ensures that any GCF-funded activity achieves improvements in environmental and social outcomes while avoiding, minimizing, and mitigating any unintended adverse impacts of funded activities. The CI-GCF Agency ESMF Accountability and Grievance Mechanism ensures enforcement of its environmental and social safeguard policies and related systems.
