Chief Communications & Marketing Officer
Prior to joining Conservation International, Len was a Partner at RooneyPartners, a New York-based integrated marketing and communications agency. There, he built and led the firm’s digital marketing, content strategy, and social media practice areas and contributed to strategic messaging and media relations for mission-driven and corporate clients around the world.
Previously, Len served as Head of Communications and Content Strategy at CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals. He led internal and external communications, publications strategy, and digital engagement, spearheading thought leadership and advocacy campaigns on topics such as investor protection and market transparency. He originally joined CFA Institute as its first Director of Social Media, where he developed the organization’s digital content strategy and award-winning social media presence from the ground up.
Earlier in his career, Len held the role of Director of Interactive Media at the Institute for Private Investors, an educational organization for ultra-high-net-worth families and wealth advisors. During this time, he wrote a private wealth management column for the Financial Times.
Len began his professional journey in journalism, holding senior editorial roles at Institutional Investor and Worth. His writing has appeared in Forbes, Fortune, The New York Times, and the Stanford Social Innovation Review.
He holds a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University, a diploma in French language from the Sorbonne, and a B.A. in government from the University of Virginia.
