​​Laure Katz is a marine scientist and conservation practitioner with more than a decade of experience in Indonesia, the Galapagos Islands, the Pacific Line islands and California.
Laure earned an interdisciplinary B.Sc. and M.Sc. in marine resource management from Stanford University and a global MBA from University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Currently serving as the Director of Conservation International’s Seascapes Program, Laure works directly with communities, governments and investors to improve ocean management around the world. Laure spent four years living in Indonesia and working as a key advisor for the Bird’s Head Seascape in West Papua, Indonesia, a global model for community-driven co-management at the seascape scale. She is currently developing sustainable financing models for marine conservation and developing comprehensive capacity development programs for marine conservation practitioners.​
