​Ricardo Ulate has been involved in providing support to Central American countries in creating capacities and advancing in the design of REDD+ strategies, climate change and environmental services frameworks. Ricardo has also supported the Costa Rican delegation to the UNFCCC during the last few years.

As part of Ricardo Ulate's professional experience at Conservation International, he has been involved in providing support to Central American countries in creating capacities and advancing in the design of REDD+ strategies, climate change and environmental services frameworks. Ricardo has also supported the Costa Rican delegation to the UNFCCC during the last few years.

As officer of the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Telecommunications in Costa Rica, he was directly responsible for conducting the international relationships of the Ministry in close coordination of the Office of the Minister, attend and coordinate national positions in many multilateral bodies and actively conduct the involvement of Costa Rica in the regional environmental agenda.

 
As a member of the Advisory Board for the National REDD+ strategy in Costa Rica, Ricardo has been involved in the design of the consultation process with relevant stakeholders, in the discussion about the SESA implementation and in the design of the information system for REDD+ safeguards.
