This specimen was found in rapids near Entreríos in the Alto Caura. It is the family Pimelodidae and the scientists were very excited to find this fish in the rapids. Most members of this family do not live in rapids, so they will return to the lab and see what sort of neat adaptations this fish has.
This proves that scientists can't assume anything – just because a species has not been found in an area doesn't mean that it is not there!
