Guyaba plant.

December 1, 2000

Guyaba

This psidium plant commonly known as guyaba is one of the species with edible fruits in the family Myrtaceae. A few species of this genus are cultivated and processed at an industrial level. It is very common to find these species and other Myrtacacea in rapids.

The people of the Caura (and many other places in Latin America) use this species of guayaba as food.
