Juan attended high school in Maripa and has been trained in sustainable management practices. He is representing the indigenous organization Kuyujani on the AquaRAP expedition.
"I am from the upper-Caura and I'm looking forward to learning more about the lower-Caura. It is important for us [Ye'kwana] to learn about ecology and the groups that AquaRAP is studying. Other scientific groups will work here, too, and they will have to coordinate with the people of this land. I want to learn more."
