Luzmila has been working for Fundación La Salle for 22 years where she is head of limnology.
"I never planned to leave Bogotá, let alone Colombia, but there are many professionals with multiple degrees there who cannot get jobs. I came to visit my brother in Puerto Ordaz for a few weeks and I wound up staying."
She enjoys working in the Venezuelan Guayanas where she has access to many different kinds of rivers. Some have white water like the Orinoco and others have dark water like the Caura.
