Sustainable harvesting from forests makes environmental and economic sense. Export of organic-certified agricultural products like brazil nuts provides livelihoods to farming families in Madre de Dios without destroying the forest. The Giant Utility
Rainforests naturally recycle air, clean water, pollinate crops, and regulate climate. Demand for these services is rising, and providing them in a deforested area increasingly difficult. Carbon offsets can help protect standing forests for the benefit of local communities. Watch video » |
