Verde Ventures support has enabled our partners to help protect and restore more than
1,138,399 acres (460,694 hectares) of biologically rich lands. Verde Ventures business partners also employ more than 53,000 local people in 13 countries.

The acres protected and restored with Verde Ventures support provide critical habitat for 531 globally threatened species. The benefits increase dramatically when the impact on adjacent biologically diverse lands is factored into the equation. Altogether, our investments have helped tip the scales for more than 16 million hectares of priority land.
Highlights of results to date include:
- Protecting rain forest around Mexico’s threatened El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, which harbors the nation’s last remaining cloud forest. Verde Ventures’ support to sustainable coffee farms surrounding the reserve is helping protect the rain forest areas they rely on to provide shade for their coffee crops.
- Securing biologically rich waters sheltering some of the most pristine island reefs in the Indian Ocean. Funding from Verde Ventures enabled tour operator Wildlife Adventures to complete Ibo Island Safaris in Quirimbas National Park at the local community’s request to protect its natural resources and bolster tourism in this region of Mozambique.
Our investments of $17 million to date also have enabled our business partners to generate sales of nearly $41 million.
