Dutch-born photographer Frans Lanting is considered by many to be one of the top photographers of our generation. His self-described mission is to promote knowledge and understanding about the Earth and its natural history through images and ideas that convey a passion for nature and a sense of wonder about our living planet. Through this work and alliances with organizations like Conservation International and the World Wildlife Fund, he and his partner, Chris Eckstrom, actively promote conservation at all levels, ranging from global initiatives to local solutions.

Frans has partnered with CI through Earth in Focus with the common belief that we can help catalyze a global conservation ethic. To do so we need to bring to scale our visual communications. Photographers like Frans are helping us do that.
