Cynthia McKee is CI’s Senior Vice President for Development. She has extensive experience in fundraising strategy and donor cultivation. She works directly with the Board of Directors, the CEO and leadership throughout organization to secure significant funding, both restricted and unrestricted, from individuals and foundations.
Before joining CI in January 2011, Cynthia was the Director of Development and Marketing for the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), where she was responsible for developing the organization’s fundraising and marketing strategy and leading efforts to secure private sector gifts to ensure its multi-million dollar fundraising goal was met.
Previous to NFWF, Cynthia served in as the acting Chief Development Officer at Special Olympics, and before that, she was Director of Principal Gifts at The Nature Conservancy where she launched a gift program to bolster its Campaign for Conservation which raised $1.4 billion for the Conservancy’s conservation activities worldwide. Cynthia has also served in the major gifts departments at World Wildlife Fund and the Pan American Development Foundation at the Organization of American States. She began her career as a political fundraiser working for Senator John Heinz as well as the Elliot Richardson for Senator Campaign.
