Habitat

Inhabit primary and secondary lowland rainforest, montane forest, swamp, gallery, and acacia woodland

Distinguishing features
Common name is given because they have a red to chestnut brown colored tail, overall coat color is speckled yellow brown with the undersides a lighter color, a black face, white cheek fur, blue coloring around the eyes, nose can have colorations that vary from white to yellow to black

Diet
Primarily eat fruit, but supplement diet with animal prey, leaves and gum

Behavior
Diurnal, arboreal, typically form 1-male/multi-female groups of 7 to 35 individuals

Threats
Habitat destruction from agriculture and logging, and hunted for food
