Habitat
Inhabit lowland tropical rainforest, montane tropical rainforest, shrublands, tropical degraded forest, gallery and coastal forests, and primary and secondary, dense rain forest.

Distinguishing features
An orange yellow beard, snout and rump is bright red and blue, snout of the females and juveniles is a duller blue and the beard is less pronounced.
Diet
Primarily eat fruit and seeds, but supplement diet with bark, leaves, stems, pith of plants, palm nuts, ants, termites, dung beetles, tortoises, spiders, duikers, birds, frogs, mice and other animal prey.
Behavior
Diurnal, arboreal and terrestrial, common threatening behavior includes a bobbing head, typically forage for food along streams and in mature forests with little undergrowth, form 1-male or multi-male groups of 20-50 individuals but have been seen uniting in groups of 150 individuals.
Threats
Major threats include habitat loss and excessive hunting for food consumption.
