Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company Foundation

The Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company Foundation has invested in a fresh water conservation project in the Haizishan area of China and is a founding member of CI’s original Team Earth initiative.

In 2011, Wrigley made a conservation investment that will enable CI to expand its Community Conservation Agreement program to endangered wetlands in Haizishan, China, which are a part of the Tibetan Plateau - the source of fresh water for nearly two billion people. As part of the project, CI will partner with the Department of Forestry Sichuan Province to strengthen the management and conservation of nearly 460,000 hectares of critical freshwater ecosystems in and around Haizishan National Nature Reserve, home to hundreds of pristine lakes that form a vital part of the hydrology cycle in the region. CI will train local communities in Litang County to implement conservation techniques and engage in alternative, sustainable livelihoods by providing resources and technical assistance to communities, local authorities and NGO partners.

The Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company Foundation is a founding Team Earth partner whose support helped develop our original Team Earth initiative designed to encourage individuals to take positive action for the environment.
