Total Foundation

The Total Foundation provided philanthropic support to CI to support our work in New Caledonia, specifically studying reef ecosystems of the North East province. 

In 2009, the Total Foundation provided grant funding to CI to support a Rapid Assessment Program (RAP) of the lagoon and reef biodiversity of the North East Province of New Caledonia, which is located about 750 miles east of Australia. Highlights of the RAP include: A total of 333 named coral species were observed, along with 433 species of fish and 23 species of sea cucumbers, including two rare species.
