The Seattle-based band Pearl Jam has been a long-time friend and supporter of CI.
2010 - The proceeds from the sale on iTunes of Pearl Jam's "Amongst the Waves" video went to CI to support our work on global marine issues.
Pearl Jam also sponsored a turtle in 2009's Great Turtle Race. The the 375-kilogram female leatherback turtle named Backspacer won the race!
In 2003, 2006 and 2008, Pearl Jam offset its CO2 emissions from the band’s concert tours.
In 2002, Pearl Jam performed two benefit shows in Seattle to raise money for several non-profit organizations, including CI, to establish a model for other bands looking to become "carbon neutral."
