Myopophyllum sp. nov.

The genus Myopophyllum contains only one described species from the Andes of central Ecuador. This species is potentially new to science.

It differs in coloration and calling song from Myopohyllum speciosum. The latter produces very high ultrasound, while this species’ song is partly audible. It lives at 1250 – 1850 m.

On a RAP survey, Tepuyes of the Upper Nangaritza River and Cordillera del Cóndor, Provincia de Zamora-Chinchipe, Ecuador, South America.
