Meeting of the European Parliament Intergroup on Climate Change, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development

The voluntary scheme for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in Territories of European Overseas Entities (BEST) is a follow-up to the conference held in July 2008 in La Reunion on “The EU and its Overseas Entities: Strategies to counter Climate Change and Biodiversity Loss.”

A meeting, chaired by the MEP Maurice Ponga, was organized to exchange ideas and debate on BEST.  Jean-Philippe Palasi, Director for EU Policy of CI Europe, was invited to be part of the panel discussion, together with panelists from the IUCN, the European Commission, and the Government of Montserrat.
