Business & Sustainability Council

A powerful platform for learning and collaborative action

CI established the Business & Sustainability Council (BSC) in 2003 for companies committed to pursuing environmental and business leadership. Comprised of influential corporations across a range of industries, BSC members represent global revenues greater than $2.3 trillion and 3.8 million employees.

In 2012, CI conducted an in-depth strategic review of the BSC, to ensure the forum remains a relevant, compelling and practical platform that harnesses CI’s scientific and technical expertise, field experience and access to thought-leaders around the world.

In the new bi-level BSC structure, members at the Business Level will have high-value opportunities to engage with CI through the annual meeting, online learning and employee engagement tools, as well as technical and advisory support. Members at the Executive Level will have additional opportunities to work with and support CI’s mission at a higher level through in-depth CI expert support and a working group to dig deeper into topics of mutual interest.

With the new program, the BSC remains uniquely positioned to bring to our members a unique blend of CI thought leadership and science, practical experience from the field and best practices from our corporate partners.
