Zachary Wells joined CELB in 2013 as a Manager on the Responsible Mining & Energy team. Prior to CI, Zachary spent four years managing a landscape-scale conservation program in Papua New Guinea, the YUS Conservation Area. In addition to supervising a diverse team of PNG nationals and expatriates, Zachary also worked on developing new projects, including a direct-trade livelihoods program with local coffee farmers. From 2003 to 2005, as a Peace Corps volunteer in Zambia, Zachary worked with local communities and the Zambian Wildlife Authority to improve wildlife management on the outskirts of North Kafue National Park.
Zachary brings to CELB expertise in project implementation and management, environmental economics, and policy. He speaks Zambian Kikaonde, Papua New Guinean Tok Pisin and Spanish.
