John Buchanan

​John Buchanan has been at CI for over 15 years in several different roles all focused on food and agriculture. Last fall, following a two-year assignment focused on developing CI's institutional food security strategy, he returned to CI's Center for Environmental Leadership in Business as Senior Director, Food Security and Agribusiness. In this role, he focuses on development and implementation of sustainable agriculture and supply chain initiatives with leading companies. John is also a co-organizer of the Landscapes for People Food and Nature Initiative, and previously served on the Executive Board of the Roundtable on Sustainble Palm Oil and the Steering Committee of the Keystone Field to Market Initiative.  John came to CI from the private sector, where he worked for six years in the food packaging industry. He is fluent in Spanish.​
