Aurélie Lhumeau is an Advisor for the Social & Environmental Standards initiative (REDD+ SES) led by the Climate, Community and Biodiversity Alliance (CCBA). The REDD+SES initiative aims at supporting countries to develop their REDD+ safeguards information systems and achieve high social and environmental performance in their REDD+ programs. Aurélie supports countries with the development of their REDD+ safeguards approaches through capacity building and technical support. She also coordinates the development of materials on REDD+SES and related safeguards mechanisms and manages knowledge and information.
Before joining CCBA in 2012, Aurélie worked at the Ministry of Environment of Ecuador coordinating the implementation of REDD+ SES and supporting the development the participation and multiple benefits component of the REDD+ Programme. Prior to the Ministry of Environment, she worked for the South America office of the International Union for Conservation of Nature where she carried out some work on ecosystem-based adaptation in mangroves.
