Future for Life Campaign

Resilient Landscapes and Seascapes

From dense rain forests and wind-swept deserts to lush river valleys and wide-open grasslands, the Earth’s wild landscapes are as rich in beauty as they are in species and natural resources.

And our oceans cover about 70 percent of the Earth's surface. Home to thousands of species, the planet's seas are teeming with life. Each day, they provide an essential food source for millions of people whose livelihoods center around them.

We are implementing effective strategies, community engagement, and long-term financial support in protecting landscapes and seascapes.

  • Our campaign goal: We aim to protect 161 million acres of vulnerable land and establish five seascapes and 20 new protected marine areas.
  • Our progress: We have conserved over 143 million terrestrial acres and 80 million acres of marine area, and created three seascapes and 21 new marine protected areas.

We have raised 81% of our goal to conserve landscapes, with $120 million to go.

We have raised 33% of our goal to preserve seascapes, with $90 million to go.

Every acre counts. Every dollar counts. Help save an acre.
