Future for Life Campaign

As a ground-breaking leader in solving the complex, global-scale problems that threaten nature, we approach our work strategically. Our 2004 strategic planning process produced a comprehensive, innovative work plan for 2005 to 2010. And we designed the Future for Life Campaign to finance the work it calls for.

The campaign aims to make measurable progress toward ensuring a resilient, sustainable future for life on Earth. To fulfill this bold ambition, we must use our in-depth knowledge of science, economics, policy solutions, and community engagement to devise original approaches to address complex environmental problems such as climate change. 

We are pleased to be on track or ahead of schedule with all our specific Future for Life programmatic and financial goals, which include:  

• Discovering, assessing, and safeguarding species.
  
• Implementing effective strategies, community engagement, and long-term financial support to protect landscapes and seascapes.
  
• Building the capacity of indigenous people and local communities to care for ancestral lands.
  
• Developing innovative methods to address issues such as climate change, human well-being, and corporate best practices.
  
• Raising awareness around a conservation ethic.
  
• Guaranteeing effectiveness by developing a robust organizational infrastructure to support our work at home, in the field, and around the world.
