Litoria sp. frog

This frog which is potentially new to science calls loudly for mates with a sharp and ringing song that can be heard above the rushing water of torrential mountain streams. It lays its eggs underneath stones in rocky shoals.

Frogs from this group can be extremely variable in their appearance, and the sound of their call is one of the best ways both to distinguish among the species and to recognise when you have found a new species.
