The BP foundation announced in March 2009 that it is funding the work of the Conservation Leadership Programme (CLP) for the years 2009-2011, as it has done for the past 18 years.
The CLP is a partnership between Birdlife International, Conservation International, Fauna & Flora International and the Wildlife Conservation Society.
The partners in the CLP share a common concern for and commitment to our natural environment and its constituent biodiversity. By working together, sharing expertise and pooling resources, they can deliver the programme objectives far more effectively than through independent efforts.
The CLP funds, trains and supports emerging biodiversity conservation leaders to develop their skills, knowledge and networks so they can protect globally threatened habitats and species as well as help local communities understand why this is important and how they can contribute.
