Science is the heart of our work. Finding global trends and identifying local challenges, the Center for Applied Biodiversity Science (CABS) is an extraordinary and diverse team of scientific and technical experts who break new ground daily.

Our research identifies imperiled species and irreplaceable sites, pinpoints threats, and leads the way as we develop strategies and solutions to the problems that threaten the natural world we depend on for our daily needs.

Our findings inform actions, policies, and people. We've developed a global early warning system to alert the world's conservation community to potential problems. We lead global assessments on the conservation status and trends for entire plant and animal groups, on land and in the ocean. We have teams around the world monitoring landscapes and oceans daily, sharing information for free in real-time. We understand how people impact and interact with nature, and how it will benefit all of us to conserve it. We provide this information to those who make the final decisions on how the Earth’s resources will be used and protected.
