The Conservation Strategies Division of Conservation International is seeking a self-motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Manager for Finance and Operations. Reporting to the Vice President for Conservation Strategies, the Senior Manager will be responsible for managing and monitoring in the areas of budgeting, contracting, fundraising projections and operations. Ensuring consistent and accurate entry of budgeting and contracting information, the Senior Manager will produce analyses and forecasts providing timely and accurate information. This position includes interaction with all levels of staff, providing program heads with timely and accurate information and maintaining oversight of divisional administrative and operational tasks fulfilled by the Administrative Coordinator. This position will also assist with program fundraising projections, budgeting for proposals and monitoring of long-range financial needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial management and facilitation of finances to include the development, monitoring and management of budgets, reporting as needed to the Vice President and program heads
  • Fundraising strategic support to the Vice President and direct support to the programs through the preparation of thorough budgets for proposals and the timely production of financial reports for donors
  • Monitoring and verification of compliance with internal organizational policies and donor policies
  • Supervision and facilitation of Division wide operations
  • Contract negotiation, administration, and monitoring

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree/3 years

Required Skills:

  • Four-year degree in financial management, business administration or related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience with demonstrated increasing responsibility. 
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills; including problem solving, listening and relationship/team-building
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to federal grants or contract compliance
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Skills:

  • Foreign Language skills: Spanish and/or French
  • Masters Degree in Business Administration or Finance
  • Supervisory experience preferred
