Reports to: Manager, Science Applications 
Virginia

Conservation International's Information Technology Division is seeking a creative, experienced, and mult-skilled technical specialist to focus on the organization's enteprise reporting needs. This position will be responsible for implementing reporting requirements both within and among various business intelligence and conservation applications. S/he will serve as a technical resource to assist with the identification and implementation of reporting software, as well as helping to define how to track and report on institutional progress within the context of the organization's conservation mission. The individual will coordinate closely with the Information Systems group as well as with business stakeholders throughout the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform an analysis of potential reporting software packages to be utilized within customized applications, as well as among applications
  • Utilizing agile methodologies and standard project management approaches, develop and execute a strategy to integrate reporting software within an enterprise repository system to allow for reporting among multiple applications simultaneously, as well as within individual applications
  • Implement reports and tasks as needed to meet the end-to-end project needs for effective reporting across the institution
  • Work with partners to establish proper technical documentation and architecture requirements for software implementations              
  • Provide technical advice and assist with project implementations in the Information Systems group

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree Information Systems or related field
  • Knowledge and experience with information systems needs analysis
  • Experience with reporting software, such as Crystal Reports, Microsoft reporting, etc.
  • Knowledge of databases, such as Oracle, MS-SQL, PostgresSQL, MySQL.
  • Knowledge of data formats, such as HTML, XML, PDF.
  • Experience writing SQL queries
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience with requirements definition
  • Ability to communicate with functional users and technical specialists
  • Ability to develop flexible and creative solutions to problems
  • Ability to work well with a broad range of people, cultures, and disciplines
  • Ability to communicate with functional users and technical specialists
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with system users
