The Manager for Program Management and Planning (PMP) will join a team of five people working to support CI's Regional Programs and will work specifically with the Latin American Regional Programs (Andes, Brazil, Guianas, and Mexico and Central America). Under the supervision of the Senior Director, Program Management and Planning, the Manager will support the Regional Programs on a variety of processes, such as conducting Regional Program Assessments, development of tools aimed at facilitating the management of programmatic information, and supporting program transition to the Center for Biodiversity Conservation (CBC) model of operation. The Manager will also work with staff from other CI Departments in the development, implementation, and refining of CI’s strategic planning framework.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

CBC/Regional Program Liaison and Support: Support the Latin American regional programs and field divisions in their strategic development and in their interactions with CI headquarters departments.

Regional Program Assessments: Lead all program assessments in Latin America (usually one per year) and support assessments in other regions as needed.

Support the development of Institutional and Planning Tools (e.g. planning database) aimed at facilitating the management of programmatic information to achieve conservation outcomes. Likely focus on the programmatic aspect of external grants and incoming grants, particularly the development of best practices documents and active participation in training for this tool.
Working Conditions: The Manager will be expected to support the work of in-country staff and therefore must have experience in working with people from different cultures and an understanding of the constraints and issues related to getting work done in the field.

Education/Requested Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree/3 years

Background in conservation related field

Strong Spanish-language skills (Portuguese a plus)

Self-starter, willing to take initiative on solving problems and providing follow-on assistance in field

Knowledge of real-world conservation challenges and opportunities in specific cultural and political contexts
