Reports to: Director, Corporate Communications & Marketing 
Virginia

The graphic designer will coordinate layout, design, formatting, and printing of all outreach materials for CI's Center for Environmental Leadership in Business (CELB) including PowerPoint and KeyNote presentations to potential partners, proposals and reports to corporate partners, publications, fact sheets, and general marketing materials. He or she will lead collection, fixing, and archiving of corporate related photography from staff. This position contributes to editorial and graphical review to the aforementioned items to ensure that they are of the highest visual quality. He or she will liasion with Global Communications and corporate partners to ensure proper use CI's institutional brand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement layout, design, and graphic review of corporate outreach materials including: industry publications, program fact sheets, CELB holiday cards, the annual report, and other general marketing/promotion materials
  • Lead design of presentations to corporate partners using both PowerPoint & KeyNote applications
  • Assist with graphical needs for corporate section of CI's website and communications to CI's online community
  • Maintain and continue to develop CELB's image archive; create "lightboxes"  for use by journalists and corporate partners; provide photographic support for corporate partner publications; work with CI Visual Resources team to ensure access to all latest photography assets
  • Implement design of key proposals, corporate reports to key account partners, and updates of corporate activites to report to CI board members
  • Establish templates for CELB staff to use to write smaller proposals and reports, providing assistance as necessary  
  • Train staff on use of various tools and conduct meetings with staff at three month intervals to review whether templates need to be updated
  • Provide design support for CELB participation at conferences and speaking opportunities including handout materials, CELB display materials and new powerpoint presentation

Working Conditions:

The position will interact daily with corporate engagement division team, but share office space with global communications staff to ensure that we are maximizing communications channels and sharing information. Some domestic and international travel may be required to meet with corporate partners and gather content from field projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree/2 years experience

Required Skills:

  • Proficient using the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat)
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Adept at designing templates/presentations in MS PowerPoint and Apple Keynote
  • Comfortable using both Windows and Macintosh platforms
  • Working knowledge of flatbed and slide scanning, photo editing and color correction
  • Basic familiarity of HTML/XML based content management systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
