Human Resources 
Reports to: Director, Organizational Effectiveness 
Virginia
Conservation International is seeking an Operations Coordinator to provide key operational and financial management support for the Human Resources Division. Reporting to the Director of Organizational Effectiveness, the Coordinator will assist with HR budgeting, contracts, and planning and reporting obligations.  The position will provide project and event management and planning support for global trainings, annual institutional events, staff events and retreats. S/he will coordinate Conservation International’s global Awards Program, provide support for a variety of HR projects, and assist with HR publications and presentations. 

Financial management responsibilities will include the maintenance of HR budgets through expense tracking, reporting, and processing financial paperwork and expense reports.  The successful candidate must be a team player and have the ability to interact with a variety of individals at all levels of the organization, serving as the liason for the annual Awards program and partnering regularly with other CI divisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Support

  • Coordinate CI’s global awards program, providing project management and event planning support and coordinating the efforts of CI divisions to reward and recognize employees
  • Provide support to HR processes including, but not limited to, annual performance appraisal, CI’s policy manual, and insurance renewal
  • Assist with analyzing data for HR and training initiatives
  • Assist with the development and distribution of publications and presentations

Finance and Office Support

  • Ensure operational services within the division run smoothly, including purchasing of equipment and supplies and distribution of mailings and packages
  • Process financial and contractual transactions in accordance with CI policies and procedures, utilizing CI systems
  • Assist with the annual budget process, partnering with budget managers
  • Assist with the development of and reporting on HR’s annual work plan
  • Support HR communications by managing web content, email communications, and presentation materials

Event Management

  • Provide logistical support for global HR trainings
  • Coordinate HR team meetings and retreats
  • Coordinate organization-wide and local events

REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience: 

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience.

Required Skills:

  • Four-year college degree with 2 years of related office experience, or equivalent combination of work and experience
  • Familiarity with desktop publishing software, including Adobe Photoshop and InDesign
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs with solid understanding of Excel and Powerpoint
  • Ability to learn new programs and computer skills as necessary
  • High level of organization, creativity and innovation
  • Self-directed problem solver
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all level employees in a team setting
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidentiality of sensitive issues and information

Preferred Skills:

  • Work experience in a non-profit and/or international setting
  • Budget and/or accounting experience
