World Water Week 2012 was held in Stockholm, Sweden from 26 -31 August 2012. This annual meeting organized by the Swedish International Water Institute (SIWI) brings together over 2,500 representatives who are advancing work on water, including members of governments, academia, civil society and the private sector. It focuses on linking best practices, scientific understanding, policy and decision-making from a global perspective on the state of water sources, environmental health, livelihoods and poverty reduction agendas.
Conservation International's team focused on profiling our portfolios of work in freshwater ecosystem management, service provision/valuation, linking freshwater conservation and development, climate change adaptation, and food security. We believe that sustainable development and green economies will only be achieved through a comprehensive approach, where water is at the very center, driving the water, food, climate, species, health and cultural service delivery. Watersheds and water service flows are embedded across economic sectors, link ecosystems with economies, and connect landscapes and seascapes.
We also concentrated on forming collaborations with partners and sharing our work in food security that combines management of natural areas in production landscapes with implementation of improved farming practices to deliver more sustainable, resilient food production and livelihoods.

Workshop: Building Resilience into Water Supply & Sanitation: Finding a Common Vision for Sustainable Communities and Ecosystems in Emerging Economies*
This workshop will start building a framework for climate-resilient water supply and sanitation projectsand planning that includes multiple perspectives of long-term sustainability and resilience. We hope to ignite synergies that can enable collaboration that ultimately improves both freshwater ecosystems and human well-being.

Seminar: Beyond climate uncertainty: resilience for planning, operations, and design
9:00-12:30, Room: K21
Resilience has been identified as a core value for integrating climate information into resource and infrastructure management, but what does this term mean in practice? In this session, we will debate, explore, and synthesize examples of resilience and sustainability that span infrastructure, institutions and ecosystems.

Side Event: Simplifying Integrated Agricultural Landscapes: Landscapes for People, Food, and Nature Storybook
17:45-18:45, Room: K22
This event will showcase communications products developed by CI and EcoAgriculture Partners under the Landscapes for People, Food and Nature (LPFN) Initiative. These products include illustrated diagrams aimed at clearly communicating the relationships between biodiversity, watershed function, landscape structure and agricultural production systems to decision makers.

Seminar: Strengthening Adaptive and Multi-level Water Governance through Innovative Solutions
9:00-12:30, Room: T5
Improving freshwater governance requires formal cooperation, institutional coordination and adaptive measures for effective adaptation plans across borders. How can coordination and cooperation be enhanced? What are the governance issues faced by national and transboundary institutions and the tools to meet emerging challenges?

Seminar: A new climate for business: seeking profits in a shifting waterscape
14:00-17:30, Room: K11
Climate change's private sector impacts have been masked as energy shortages, infrastructure failure, and supply chain gaps. This seminar debates uncertainty, how water and climate change can alter whole economies, and new approaches to implementing resilient business decisions.
