CI’s work in Mt. Mantalingahan Protected Landscape aims to demonstrate how ecosystem services benefit humanity and how protected area management that values and protects nature’s assets supports human well-being.

Our goal is to maintain the ecological processes within Mt. Mantalingahan Protected Landscape through the development and implementation of an integrated plan to effectively manage watersheds, ancestral domains, and community-based conserved areas, as well as by securing long-term, stable financing.

Target interventions in MMPL include:

  • securing capitalization for endowment fund
  • capacity building for protected area managers
  • conservation agreements with tenured occupants in critical watersheds to enhance local community welfare while conserving protected area resources
  • climate change mitigation and adaptation
