CI Live

Dr. Ahumada is an ecologist with the Tropical Ecology Assessment and Monitoring (TEAM) Network at Conservation International. He recently led the first global camera trap mammal study, which documented 105 species, in nearly 52,000 images, from seven protected areas across the Americas, Africa and Asia.

The photographs reveal an amazing variety of animals in their most candid moments — from a minute mouse to the enormous African elephant! There are also gorillas, cougars, giant anteaters and — surprisingly — tourists and poachers. Join us to learn more about this study, the amazing images, Dr. Ahumada and his work — and to ask your questions! Watch live September 1, 2011, 3:00 pm EDT – 4:00 pm EDT.

The second half of our show will be devoted to your questions. Come ready to submit them during the show or submit your questions in advance.

What is CI Live? It's a place where you can join our experts, live, to learn more about their work to protect our environment. It's a place where you'll hear amazing stories about protecting nature — so that all of us can thrive. It's a place where you can be a part of these stories and a part of CI's work.

Our anchor for this show will be Patricia Yakabe Malentaqui, International Media Manager for Conservation International.
